Gulmarg, Jan 01 (KNO): Gulmarg witnessed spectacular New Year celebrations with the performance of acclaimed singer Abha Hanjura. The event as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) took place against the backdrop of snow-covered peaks saw Hanjura's mesmerizing the audience with her soulful renditions and dynamic stage presence. The performance, held at a specially set-up venue, attracted a diverse crowd eager to welcome the new year with musical numbers. Her repertoire ranged from traditional Kashmiri folk to contemporary compositions, creating a harmonious blend that resonated with the diverse audience — vocals left the crowd spellbound, marking the night as a memorable start to the year. Local and visiting spectators expressed their joy and appreciation for the unforgettable New Year's celebration. The event highlighted the cultural richness of the region. Tourists from various corners of the globe said the serenity of the snow-clad meadows, with the iconic Gulmarg Gondola adding a touch of adventure to the festivities. Beyond the scenic beauty, it was the warm embrace of Kashmiri hospitality that left an indelible mark on the visitors. Amidst the celebratory atmosphere, tourists express their gratitude and encourage others to explore the wonders of Gulmarg. "Kashmir is truly heaven on earth. The warmth of the people here and the natural beauty are beyond words. I urge everyone to experience this magical place," said Sidharth, a tourist from Uttar Pradesh who was on his maiden visit to Kashmir. “It's not just a destination. It is a piece of heaven that everyone should have the chance to witness“ he said. Similarly, Yogendra, a makemytrip employee, who has been in Kashmir for several years, said that he had the privilege of witnessing the unparalleled beauty and hospitality that define this region. "Kashmir isn't just a destination, it's an immersive experience of warmth, breathtaking landscapes, and cultural richness", he said. “Kashmir is a region of peace. Don't be afraid of false narratives. The warmth of its people and the tranquility of its landscapes speak louder than any misconception. Come, experience the real Kashmir,” he said, while encouraging everyone to explore the wonders of Kashmir particularly Gulmarg.
